Today four of us walked all over Kamakura which is south of Tokyo about an hour by train, which means it is still kinda a suburb. (Tokyo goes on forever). There are a metric buttload of Buddhist Temples and some Shinto Shrines in the area. We visited about 5 during the day and they were all incredible. This is me and the giant Buddha chillin'. The statue is actually one of the first examples of base isolation in Japan as he had lost his head in multiple earthquakes. (That's commentary for the other structure geeks in my blogland) I've had a great weekend and I think I am truely over the jetlag and feeling good. Oh! We had the most excellent meal I have yet had in Japan today. For lunch we walked into a random restaurant and it was a Japanese omelet place. They give you a bowl of mixin's and you cook it as a group on a grill in the center of the table. This description does not do it justice at all. It's not really an omelet but that is the closest American food for comparison. The first one we had was my favorite - pork and kimchee. The others were seafood and then a cheese, corn and pork. YummY!! Aaron, I took pics for you. All right it is time for me to go to bed and time for y'all to resume your Sunday morning. I will sleep so well tonight!! Love, e-

How many temples are there in a "metric buttload"? More than in a standard buttload? I was never very good at conversion :p
That sounds awesome! The kimchee didn't do ya in this time? It is good to hear that the peanut is lettin' ya eat some good food again! I can't wait to see the pics! It sounds like the "fry it as you like it" restaurant described in the Art of Eating. What is a shinto shrine like?
Whit, In my less than scientific opinion, I would say that the average American ass is bigger than that of the rest of the world, hence the metric buttload would be somewhat smaller than the standard buttload, but this is mearly my humble opinion...
You are correct - the American buttload is 3.141 metric buttloads, on account of we eat too much pi. (Sorry, best I could do on short notice)
You got a chuckle out of me Jim...but then I didn't get much sleep last night :p
Booooyaahh! that was good
